About the Philadelphia Scholastic Scrabble League:

The Philadelphia Scholastic Scrabble League (PSSL) is the competitive arm of ASAP Scrabble with more than 100 youth from the city’s neighborhood public and charter schools competing at the middle and high school level for a chance to be crowned the Scrabble champions of Philadelphia! The PSSL allows students to showcase their vocabulary, spelling and strategic thinking skills and represent the collective literacy prowess of their schools. The League season begins in October, with monthly tournaments through to February, with the majority of the tournaments taking place at the School District Headquarters. The 2018-2019 League featured 11 schools/sites including: AMY Northwest, Constitution HS, Mastery Shoemaker HS, Myers Rec Center, Northwood Academy, Olney Charter HS, Hostos, McCloskey, Pennypacker, McDaniel and Masterman
