Register for the next Philly Counts Partner Call on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 11 am

The Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) is the Community Action Agency (CAA) for Philadelphia and invite you to join the Philly Counts Partner network call on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 11 am. There’s been a lot of exciting things happening at Philly Counts to expand our equitable engagement, and are excited to announce that effective July 1, 2023, the Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Services and Philly Counts are part of the Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO). Join to hear from the Executive Director, Mitch Little, and learn more about our shared values and framework.

The goal of the merger is to better achieve economic justice for all Philadelphians so that they might share in the city’s prosperous future. By bringing together the existing programs and expertise, we will have a greater capacity to connect our most vulnerable residents to the resources and programs they deserve.

Philadelphia is at a critical juncture and CEO is uniquely positioned as a connector between the community and local government, enabling us to be a source of strategy, collaboration, and leadership.

As an example of our collaboration, we have been working across teams this summer to protect thousands of Philadelphians from water shut-offs through outreach and advocacy with the Philadelphia Water Department and others.  We’re excited about the possibilities and look forward to staying connected with you.

In addition to learning more about the merger there will also be a representative discussing the Zero Fare program pilot that will provide fully subsidized transit passes to Philadelphians living near or below the poverty level.
